Wheel-weight prep guide

What should I do before a stick-on wheel weight?

Remove the old weight. Spray and wipe the old bond area clean. Spray the clean area again, let it dry for a few seconds, then install the new weight.

Look at the mounting area first

What is on the wheel?

That answer tells you whether you can clean the bond patch now or need another step first.

Light dirt or brake dust

Spray Quick Dry on the exact area where the weight will go and wipe it clean. Spray that clean bond area again, let it dry for a few seconds, and do not wipe the final application.

Old foam or adhesive

Remove the bulk material first. Then use Quick Dry for the final clean of the bond patch.

Oil, heavy grease, tire lube, or silicone dressing

Remove the visible film first. Then use Quick Dry for the final clean of the bond patch.

Corrosion or a loose finish

Stop. Correct the surface condition before final cleaning. Quick Dry cleans the surface. It does not repair it.

The final prep

Remove. Clean. Prep. Stick.

Wheel finishes

Safe for standard and custom wheel finishes.

That includes clear coat and custom paint. Test specialty, refinished, ceramic-coated, or unknown finishes in an inconspicuous area first.

Scrapers, abrasives, and other removers are separate choices. Follow the wheel or coating maker's instructions for those tools and products.

Product scope

Know what this product is.

Quick Dry is an acetone-based, fast-drying wheel-weight adhesion cleaner. It is flammable. Keep it away from heat, sparks, and flame, provide ventilation, and follow the label and SDS.

Prep N Stick replaces brake cleaner for wheel prep. CHAOS does not make brake cleaner.
