Why not use brake cleaner?

Quick Dry is purpose-built for the wheel-weight bond area and contains no chlorinated solvents. Brake cleaner formulas vary.

How quickly does it dry?

It flashes dry in seconds. Spray the bond area, wipe with a clean dry cloth, let the surface dry, do not rinse, then install the weight using the shop's normal procedure.

How far does one bottle go?

Customers report roughly 100 to 150 wheels per 32-ounce bottle. Actual yield varies with wheel condition and the amount of old tape or adhesive that must be removed.

Cosmetic wheel cleaner

Clean the visible wheel surface.

Follow its label, including any rinse step. Appearance cleaning is not automatically final adhesive prep.

Approved adhesive remover

Break down old tape, foam, and stubborn adhesive.

Remove the residue it leaves, then finish with the bond-area prep specified by the shop.

Plastic scraper

Lift bulk foam or adhesive without using a metal edge.

Choose tools and technique that the wheel-finish manufacturer permits.

Brake-parts cleaner

Perform the brake-service task stated on its label.

Heavy material comes off first. Final bond-area prep comes last.

Dirt, oils, and brake dust

Quick Dry is designed to remove these contaminants from the mounting area. Wipe thoroughly, let the surface dry, and do not rinse after final prep.

Old adhesive and foam

Remove bulk material first with an approved tool or remover. Use Quick Dry for the final bond-area preparation.

Tire lube or heavy grease

Remove the heavy contamination before final prep. Use a clean cloth and repeat the approved process if visible film remains.

Silicone dressing

Treat overspray as a separate contamination problem. Confirm that the shop-approved removal process leaves no visible film before final prep.

Oxidation or corrosion

Correct the surface condition using the shop's approved mechanical procedure. Quick Dry is not a corrosion remover.

Refinished or coated wheels

Check the finish maker's instructions and spot test when compatibility is uncertain. A future matrix will publish only tested results.

Expensive finish? Slow down.

Do not improvise with unknown solvents, metal scrapers, aggressive abrasives, contaminated towels, or mixed chemicals. Follow the wheel or coating maker's instructions when the finish is uncertain.
